Color blooms on Broadway Avenue as the Magnolia Garden Club adorns Sylacauga with new hanging flower baskets

SHARE NOW

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga’s downtown streets are now awash with vibrant colors in the form of eighteen hanging flower baskets, thanks to the efforts of the Magnolia Garden Club.

Spearheaded by Libby Renn, the club’s First Vice-President, the Broadway Avenue hanging flower basket project has blossomed into reality after two years of diligent work.

The effort is a core part of the club’s mission to enhance community aesthetics and has seen coordination with local authorities like the Sylacauga City Council, the Sylacauga Street Department, and Sylacauga Parks and Recreation.

The Camelia Garden Club’s generous donation further fueled the project’s success. Now, eighteen exquisitely crafted baskets grace the thoroughfare that is Broadway Avenue.

Each basket, meticulously curated, boasts a variety of flora including Lantana, Wandering Jew, and Vinca, helping transform Broadway Avenue into a picturesque scene.

*It should be noted that the flowers are not to be picked.*
