SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Class of 2023 Valedictorians and Salutatorian of Sylacauga High School have been announced.
Alana Price and Elizabeth “Lily Frances” Price are the Valedictorians, while Anna Grace Bearden is the Salutatorian.
Alana Price, the daughter of Edward and Dr. Casey Price, will attend Samford University to study biology for pre-medicine. She received over $73,000 in scholarships from Samford, as well as scholarships from Auburn University and Miss Sylacauga. Alana is a member of various organizations, including the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She excelled academically, had dual enrollment studies at CACC, and did a medical internship at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She also actively engages in community service.
Elizabeth “Lily Frances” Price, the daughter of Amy and Dale Price, plans to study political science and pre-law at the University of Alabama. She received several scholarships associated with the university, as well as other external scholarships. Lily Frances was the Student Government Association president this past year and participated in various activities such as cheerleading, where she was captain, and track and field.
Anna Grace Bearden, the daughter of Kevin and Rethia Bearden and Angela Scott, is the Salutatorian. She will start her college education at CACC and intends to pursue a degree in radiology. Anna Grace received scholarships including the CACC Trojan Excellence Scholarship. She was a member of numerous clubs at SHS including the Scholars Bowl team, Mu Alpha Theta, the National Honor Society, and served as President of the Spanish Club.
Sylacauga High School congratulates these outstanding students on their achievements within the classroom and in the community.
