SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The winners of the 2017 Sylacauga Christmas Parade gathered at the Chamber of Commerce to receive their awards today, Dec. 22.
For the Outstanding Theme Award, Blue Bell took first place. Carolyn Suber is pictured, representing Blue Bell to take the award.
In second Place, OMYA won the President’s Award. Bob Karell, Tammy Lightsey, Haley Wright, Neil Powers, and Earl Lewis will be presenting their parade proceeds to Care House Sylacauga, a non-profit organization who helps low income families with food and clothes.
The Grand Marshall’s Award for 3rd Place went to Heritage Plastics. Tricia Large and Beverly White are pictured, and will be donating their proceeds to Arc of South Talladega County, which assists in teaching, instructing, and training the mentally disabled or handicapped.
Jamie Payton and Kevin Whitman accepted the 4th Place Chairman’s Award for Heritage South Federal Credit Union.
The Bleacher and Shirley Johnson Spirit of Christmas Award for 5th Place went to Sylacauga Eye Clinic. Ashley Letcher and Ashley Hope were there to receive the award. This award is dedicated in memory of Dawn Stevens, who is also pictured, and her daughter Amber West, not pictured, parents, who the award is named after.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Laura Strickland said, “We’re always excited to have the support of the community to celebrate this wonderful time of the year.”
