CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Former Childersburg Tiger senior point guard Sharod Robertson made his college decision official last Friday, June 2, when he signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Talladega College Tornadoes.
With friends and family there in support, the signing took place at the R.S. Limbaugh Community Center.
“I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to make the next step in my journey,” Robertson said. “Without him, none of this is possible.”
Robertson is heading to Talladega College alongside his Tiger teammate Isaac Marbury, who signed with the Tornadoes in April.
“From day one, [the two of us] were in there running the Talladega College people out of the gym,” said Robertson. “We’ve been playing together since we were little boys. We’ve got great chemistry that will help Talladega’s team.”
With both Robertson and Marbury on the court, Childersburg managed to make it to back-to-back Elite Eights.
However, Sharod’s athletic progression was advanced in the last couple of years due to his work training on the football field.
“[Playing football] helped with my whole game in basketball, especially with being more physical.” explained Robertson.
Now, Robertson can commit full-time to basketball as he prepares to join the Tornadoes for the 2023-24 season.
