CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The AlaTrust4U Foundation has awarded eight scholarships to students across Alabama, including one to a native of Childersburg.
Sharika Harrison, a graduate of Childersburg, was selected as a 2026 scholarship recipient and is currently attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she is pursuing her educational goals.
According to foundation officials, recipients were chosen based on essays detailing their academic aspirations, career ambitions, and how the scholarship would support their futures.
“The most rewarding part of this program each year is reading the students’ essays and learning about their dreams for the future,” said Rachel Kang, Director of the AlaTrust4U Foundation Board.
The scholarships are part of the foundation’s ongoing effort to invest in students and promote educational advancement across the state. Through the program, AlaTrust Credit Union continues its commitment to supporting education, expanding financial literacy, and strengthening communities throughout Alabama.
The AlaTrust4U Foundation awards scholarships annually to help students offset the cost of higher education and encourage long-term academic success.
Applications for the next scholarship cycle will open Aug. 1, 2026. Additional information about the foundation and its scholarship opportunities is available here.
