LINCOLN, Ala. – The Childersburg Tigers went on the road and completed the first half of their season, and picked up a huge win over the Lincoln Golden Bears on Monday night.
The cats had a big first half sparked by shooting from Isaac Marbury, Jordan Mann, and Ja’Kaleb Stone. The lead at halftime was 12 points and the final margin was 9 points.
What a performance by Isaac Marbury as he notched a triple-double. He led the Tigers with 35 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. He was followed in the scoring book closely by Ja’Kaleb Stone with 25 points.
Coach Johnny Johnson said, “Our effort was clearly a big difference in the game, especially on the offensive and defensive rebounds. Getting another win over a 5A school is impressive. We need to heal up and get some rest before coming back after the new year and getting into area play.”
The Tigers are now 11-2 heading into the Christmas break. Their next contest is on Tuesday, January 3 as they try to avenge one of their two losses as they take on Benjamin Russell at Childersburg. The game can be heard on the Tiger Sports Network, KiX 100.3 with the voices of Childersburg High School athletics David McCurley and Robert Sprayberry.
