Childersburg teen killed in Tuesday night crash

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash at approximately 8:55 p.m. Tuesday night has claimed the life of a Childersburg teen and injured another.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the crash occurred when a 2005 GMC Canyon driven by a local teenager left the roadway and struck a mailbox. The teen passenger, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver was transported to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. The crash happened on Eastaboga Road approximately 10 miles northeast of Talladega.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
