CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – On Friday night, the Childersburg community joined together and celebrated the start of a new school year with TigerFest at John Cox Stadium.

The event is a partnership between the schools in the community and the Childersburg Parks and Recreation Department. Over 50 vendors set up their tents with their business attire and products ranging from local churches and owners from establishments.

There were also food vendors with a variety from barbeque, to hot dogs, ice cream, seafood, shaved ice, and drinks.

All four schools from Childersburg participated with tables of supplies, learning opportunities, and technology.

The athletes were not left out either as the introduction to teams, cheerleaders, and coaches were brought about. The Tiger Marching Band performed and there was a fireworks display to culminate the evening. A fun time was had by all.

The Tigers open the season at home on Friday, Aug. 19, against the Munford Lions.
