CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg Rescue Squad is accepting orders through Tuesday, May 19, for its third annual holiday weekend fundraiser featuring smoked Boston butts.
The fundraiser pickup is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, at the Rescue Squad building next to the Childersburg Fire Department.
Each Boston butt weighs between 10 and 12 pounds and sells for $45. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help the all-volunteer organization maintain vehicles and equipment used in emergency response operations.
According to organizers, the Childersburg Rescue Squad relies on grants and community fundraising efforts to support its operations and remain prepared to respond to emergencies requested by local emergency management agencies.
Orders can be placed by messaging Jim Dennis or Dianne Dennis Bailey on Facebook with a name and phone number for pickup arrangements.
“Your support is what allows us to be able to respond in an emergency and to purchase and maintain equipment that is needed to save lives,” Dennis said. “Thank you from Childersburg Rescue Squad for your support.”
