CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – While some members of the Childersburg Rescue Squad responded to East Tennessee for rescue operations, others stayed back home, collecting emergency supplies to deliver to people impacted by Hurricane Helene. Such efforts took place this past Sunday and will continue.
The squad will be taking donations of items such as canned food, water, and cleaning supplies again on Wednesday (10/3) from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Childersburg Rescue Squad building downtown behind the Childersburg Police and Fire Departments.
Jim Dennis, spokesman for the Childersburg Rescue Squad, said, “Their conditions are beyond imagination, so if you can help, please do any non-perishables from canned goods and bottled water to things like toilet paper, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, paper towels, and such, it will help tremendously.”
