CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg Police Department has identified a suspect in the shooting death of a Childersburg man.
On Aug. 4, a shooting occurred off Veaslett Ln. in a trailer park community leaving 35-year-old Homer Deshawn Calloway dead. Today, police are searching for 19-year-old Kev’vakius Jalik Jemison of Talladega who is accused of killing Calloway at his home that night.
CPD Chief Rick McClelland told SylacaugaNews.com a warrant charging Jemison with capital murder has been issued for his arrest. He said his unit has been working with the Talladega County Drug Task Force during the investigation.
Jemison is a black male standing at 6-feet-1-inch tall and weights around 215 pounds. McClelland said Jemison may be in the Talladega Downs region of Talladega.
McClelland said he believes Jemison is armed and dangerous.
