CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a missing man.
According to CPD, Robert Doran Toney has not been seen or heard from since leaving work from Nippon Oil in Childersburg on Friday, Oct. 11. at around 2:00 p.m.
Toney, age 53, is a white male. He was last seen driving a four-door, silver 2014 Nissan Versa with license plate number 61BF571. Anyone with information may contact Central Dispatch at 256-761-1556.
UPDATE: Oct. 16, 2019 – 10:50 a.m.
Family of 53-year-old Robert Doran Toney on social media announced Toney’s car was found and he is deceased.
Toney was last seen on Friday leaving work from Nippon Oil in Childersburg around 2 p.m.
The Childersburg Police Department confirmed that Toney’s vehicle was found on Donahoo Lane in the county. Police Chief Rick McClelland said the 2014 Nissan Versa he was driving left the roadway and hit a tree.
McClelland expressed his gratitude for everyone involved in the search for Toney since Saturday. He said this is a very sad situation, but it is good for the family to finally get closure.
