CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – After years of dealing with issues related to an aging building, the Childersburg Police Department will soon be moving to a Hwy 280 location, inside the former Childersburg Medical-Surgical Building. They’ll be joined by a new Municipal Court courtroom.
Difference Architecture’s Ryan Coleman is preparing renovation plans for the building and will be presenting said plans to city officials the first week of July.
If everything meets the city official’s approval, the project will be put out for bid shortly after that meeting. The hope is that the building will be ready in the fall.
“Yeah, we’re ready,’ said Police Chief Kevin Koss, “I think the Hwy 280 location will give us a lot of advantages in handling all our duties for the citizens of Childersburg.”
