Childersburg, Harpersville Fire Departments battle 3rd St. NW house fire; homeowner treated for minor injuries

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, the Childersburg Fire and Rescue Department along with the Harpersville Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on 3rd St. NW.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, heavy fire was visible through the front windows and in the roof with smoke seen from downtown Childersburg and U.S. Hwy 280. Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control.

The homeowner was transported by private vehicle to Coosa Valley Medical Center with minor burns and smoke inhalation. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced resident.
