CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – There was an extra large crowd on hand for the Tuesday, July 16, 2024 regular meeting of the Childersburg City Council. The Young Professionals group from the Greater Coosa Valley Chamber of Commerce was on hand to meet with the Mayor and Council prior to their meeting. They are students from Childersburg and Fayetteville High Schools.
In New Business, the Council approved Resolution 2024-09, which gives approval to purchase two (2) 2024 Ford Interceptors from Stivers Ford at a total cost of $100,434, paid from ARP Fund 75.
Approval was given for Patrick Baggett to move to a full-time fire/paramedic position at a rate of $16 per hour.
The Council voted to address several serious electrical safety issues with repairs at the youth baseball complex. At the Minor League Field, scoreboard repairs will cost $1,179. Replacement of a power supply at the Tee Ball Field comes at a cost of $4,989. Both will be paid from Fund 65 Direct Support.
Invoice payments in the amount of $479,114.41 were approved. For the second meeting in a row, that figure was higher than is usual due to bond payments.
The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
