CHILDERSBURG, Ala. — The Childersburg City Council will consider several resolutions during its upcoming meeting on Tuesday, Feb, 3, at 6:00 p.m., including approval of a grant application for street paving, installation of a license plate reader camera, attendance at a statewide municipal convention, and additional liability insurance for police officers.

Under new business, council members will vote on Resolution 2026-03, which would authorize the mayor to execute a Rebuild Alabama grant application for paving work in the Bates Addition. The project, coordinated through Utility Engineers, would include a local match not to exceed $100,000.00.

The council will also review Resolution 2026-04, which seeks permission for Central Alabama Community College to install a license plate reader Flock System camera along Faye Perry Drive on city right of way.

Another agenda item calls for approval of its elected officials to attend the 2026 League of Municipalities Annual Convention in Montgomery from April 28 through April 30. The request includes a $450 registration fee per participant, two nights of lodging, per diem, and mileage reimbursement.

The council will consider approving additional liability insurance coverage for police officers through the Fraternal Order of Police at a yearly premium of $193.20 per officer, covering 15 officers.

The agenda also includes committee reports and approval of minutes from the Jan. 20, 2026, regular meeting. The meeting follows the council’s established schedule of first and third Tuesday meetings each month at the Police/Judicial Complex on U.S. Highway 280, with the first meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. and the third at 11:00 a.m.
