CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met Tuesday night, Jan. 15th at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda items for action:
The Council approved Ordinances 1107 through 1110, annexing four properties on River Run Road into the City, as recommended by the Planning Commission. Numbers 145, 149, 151, 1nd 153 River Run Road are all contiguous with city property.
Three citizens were appointed to the Library Board: Joyce Brooks and Audrey Pate for terms expiring Oct. 1, 2021, and Steve Cain for a term expiring on Oct. 1, 2022.
The Council approved five expenditures for the new girls softball field. Cutting Edge was approved to install grass from dugout to dugout at a cost of $1,900. Sylacauga Fence was approved to install fence at the entrance of the complex at a cost of $4,097. Yarnell Construction was approved to install privacy fencing at the property line, adjacent to a residential section at a cost of $4,900. Yarnell Construction was also approved to construct a fenced cooking area at a cost of $3,400. Approval was given to purchase equipment, including a freezer, sink, prep-table, and other items at a cost not to exceed $4,500.
The Council authorized Mayor Ken Wesson to complete a purchase of two pieces of equipment from the state bid list. A John Deere 6110 Tractor will be purchased at a cost of $74,379.23. A Tiger Boom Mower attachment for the tractor will cost $55,920.80.
