CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 with the following agenda of items for action:
The Council approved an amendment to Ordinance 1093, relative to the most recent one percent increase in the local sales, in order that the proceeds be allowed for any lawful purpose.
A Public Hearing was held for properties proposed to be included in a demolition project in the City’s Ward C, using funds obtained through a Community Development Block Grant. Following that hearing, related Resolutions 2018-21 through 2018-29 were approved to declare nine properties to be public nuisances and ordering their demolition.
The Council approved the two-year appointment of Erskine Mathis as the City Judge at a rate of $1,450 per month.
Approval was given for Tiffany Wright to attend a Retirement Systems software training session on Nov. 7 in Montgomery.
The Council approved a request from the Fire Department to transfer employees, Dylan Jenkins and Isaac Holmes from part-time to full-time permanent status.
Approval was given for the City to advertise with the Childersburg High School Tip-Off Club at a cost of $150, paid from Fund 23.
Payment of invoices was approved in the amount of $252,538.80.
The next regular Council meeting is scheduled for Nov. 20, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
