Childersburg City Council meeting – May 3, 2022

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3.

The following agenda items were addressed:

The Council approved Resolution 2022-17 which gives approval to enter into an agreement with Southern Union Community College EMS students to conduct preceptorship at the Childersburg Fire & Rescue Department and to authorize Chief Shane Phillips to execute necessary documents.

Also approved was Resolution 2022-18 which grants approval to surplus contents of an acquired property located at 701 1st Street SW in downtown Childersburg. The property was formerly known as Black-Eyed Susan and Childersburg Radiator.

The Council gave approval to a proposal from The Daily Home in recognition of First Responders – Our Heroes on the Home Front, at a cost of $740.

Also approved was a project by Norred Gutter LLC to install a gutter at the City Hall Building at a cost of $11,250. It will be paid from the Alabama Trust Funds.

The Council approved the purchase of a utility trailer by the Street Department at a cost not exceeding $4,000.

Approval was given to purchase a computer from City Tech for the Rural Transportation Department in the amount of $1,385 from Alabama Trust Funds.

The Council approved the purchase of furniture and supplies for the Limbaugh Community Center from U-Line for an amount that cannot exceed $9,500.

Approval was given to pay invoices in the amount of $108,272.64.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, at 6:00 p.m.
