CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met on Monday, March 2, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda of items for action:
The Council voted to approve Resolution 2021-04, which gives approval to surplus and sell 20+/- acres to Alabama Childhood Food Solutions with the buyer responsible for associated costs, such as survey and deed expenses, and approve Mayor Ken Wesson to execute documents relating to that agreement as Chairman of the LRA.
Approval was given to appoint Mayor Ken Wesson as the Voting Delegate during the Annual Business Meeting at the Alabama League of Municipalities Convention on May 14, 2021, as well as to name Council Members Tommy Ivey and Wesley Allen as 1st Alternate and 2nd Alternate respectively.
The Childersburg 12 and Under Recreation League team last week won the District Tournament and will advance to the State Tournament in Albertville on March 12th & 13th. The Council gave approval to pay the $150 registration fee, as well as to approve lodging for two nights for Anthony Murphy, plus per diem and mileage.
Approval was given for Murphy to attend the Park and Recreation District Meeting in Auburn on March 3rd.
The next regular meeting of the Council will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
