CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda of items for action:
The Council voted to approve Ordinance 1121, which sets in motion a Storm Water Sewer Project (Series 2021 CWSRF-DL) for the Pleasant Valley community.
Resolution 2022-01 approved change orders #8 through #12 for the Community Center Renovation project, with a total cost of $154,475.84. Mayor Ken Wesson noted that the project is still well within the original cost estimates for the project.
Resolution 2022-02 approved an extension of the Letter of Intent for SOFUS Renewable Energy plans in the industrial park.
Resolution 2022-03 approved the purchase of property at 975 2nd Street SW at a cost of $20,000, plus closing costs of approximately $675.00.
The Council approved a retail off premise beer and wine ABC license for Family Dollar, located at 913 1st St. SW.
Approval was given to pay expenses for Brad Logan to attend the Alabama Park & Recreation Conference in Huntsville from Jan. 22-26 with four nights lodging, per diem, mileage, and a registration fee of $225.00.
The Council reclassified Jackie Kines as a Basic/Firefighter on part-time permanent status with no change in the rate of pay.
Approval was given to Johnny Swain to repair a damaged road in the industrial park at a cost of $5,200.00, paid from the Fund 07 gasoline tax.
The Council agreed to advertise in The Daily Home’s Update Progress Edition at a cost of $247 for a 1/8-page color ad.
Approval was given for payment of invoices in the amount of $477,798.39.
The next regular meeting of the Council is set for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.
