CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met on Monday, Feb. 16, 2021, at 6 p.m. with the following agenda of items for action:
The Council voted to approve Resolution 2021-04, which gives approval to Mayor Ken Wesson to execute documents relating to an agreement with SOJA Force Football for use of John Cox Stadium for their upcoming season. The first game will be Saturday, March 6 at 6:00 p.m. against the defending NDFL champions, the Georgia Titans.
Approval was given to reappoint Frank Black to a full term on the Childersburg Housing Authority to Feb. 3, 2026.
The Council gave approval for Bry Davis, or an associate from Trussell, Funderburg, Rea, Bell, Furgerson to act as a fill-in replacement Municipal Judge in the absence of Lance Bell, should the need arise.
Approval was given for Robin Cobb to assume permanent status as Street & Sanitation Department Supervisor at a rate of $28,080 with insurance benefits. Johnny Eddings has completed his six-month probationary period and was classified by the Council as full-time permanent at a rate of $9.25 per hour.
The Council gave approval for two nights of lodging for Police Chief Rick McClelland during the State Chiefs Conference, at a rate of $134.00 per night.
Payment was approved for invoices in the amount of $184,811.26.
The next regular meeting of the Council will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
