CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Childersburg City Council met on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda of items for action:
The Council voted to approve a pair of voting member slots for the Commercial Development Authority. Mitch Allen and Bruce Hunt, who had previously been a non-voting supernumerary member of the panel, were both appointed to terms expiring on 3/15/2025. Robbie Riddle was selected to fill the supernumerary position.
Approval was given to authorize the Mayor to identify and hire a pair of workers for the Street & Sanitation Department to work in the garbage pick-up crew.
A proclamation was read into the meeting records, whereby Mayor Ken Wesson proclaimed the month of April as Fair Housing Recognition Month.
Invoices were approved for payment in the amount of $193,247.03.
The next regular meeting of the Council will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4. Prior to the City Council meeting there will be a meeting beginning at 5 p.m. to discuss a new garbage and refuse contract.
