SYLACAUGA, Ala. – For the second year running, the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the Greater Sylacauga Area’s Woman of the Year award.
From now until Friday, Sept. 30, nominations can be made. The winner will be announced at the connectHER Women’s Conference which will take place on Oct. 21, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Sylacauga.
In order for the application to be accepted, the nominator must explain why their candidate is most deserving.
The list of qualifiers for the potential nominees includes “how she has made an impactful difference in her organization or community, examples of her leadership on the job, volunteer work, friendships, or family, personal achievements and leadership roles, and how she uses her passion and strengths to inspire others.”
Nominees must live and/or work and be engaged in the Greater Sylacauga Area. On the contrary, the panel that determines the Woman of the Year will be entirely comprised of people who do not live or work in the area.
The Greater Sylacauga Area consists of Sylacauga, Oak Grove, Fayetteville, Alpine, Sycamore, and Winterboro.
Nominations should be mailed to the Chamber at P.O. Box 185, Sylacauga, AL 35150 or emailed to executive director Laura Strickland at [email protected] no later than the deadline date of Sept. 30.
