Centre Stage Dance Academy’s ICONIC recital taking place this Saturday night

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – This Saturday night, May 7, countless hours of hard work and dedication will pay off for the students of the Centre Stage Dance Academy (CSDA).

The “ICONIC” dance recital pays homage to both old and new icons of the music industry. The theme of the show is an exciting one for CSDA owner Kaitlyn Sutton.

“I am so very excited about this show’s theme and it has been a joy working with my dancer’s on building it,” said Sutton. “Many of the songs they have heard before, but there are a few songs and artists that my younger dancers weren’t familiar with. I think it is important to keep my dancers well rounded on not only the new era of music, but give them an understanding of the past era.”

Dance classes began for these girls last August, and preparations for this recital started at the end of January, and Sutton understands the commitment given to get ready for Saturday night’s spectacle.

“I truly have the best girls,” Sutton remarked. “Not only are they talented in dance, but the light each of them brings to a room is incredible. They have worked so hard this year and I cannot wait to see them just get on stage and shine.”

CSDA can now be considered iconic within the Greater Coosa Valley, too. The dance academy was nominated and voted as the Best Locally Owned and Operated Business of 2022. It’s an achievement Sutton is humbled by.

“This award solidified the support that comes from not only my dance family, but from the entire community,” expressed Sutton. “I am so very blessed and thankful for the parents that share their sweet children with me and for this wonderful community for believing in my program.”

Sutton also pointed out that a couple of other talented local icons will be performing at the recital with both Miss Sylacauga 2022 Lacey Wood as well as musician Patrick Barnett gracing the stage.

“This is a show you do not want to miss!”

The recital will take place at the Sylacauga High School (SHS) auditorium. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. with the ICONIC show set to start at 6:00. Admission is $15 if purchased beforehand and $20 at the venue.
