CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College’s Adult Learning Program has completed the 2025-26 program year with a record 133 students earning a GED or high school diploma, marking the highest number of graduates in the program’s history.
College officials said the milestone reflects both the determination of adult learners and the commitment of faculty and staff who serve communities across Central Alabama. The previous year’s total was surpassed as the program celebrated more graduates than ever before.
“Our students have shown incredible perseverance,” said Lynn Chambers, Director of Adult Learning at Central Alabama Community College. “Every GED and high school diploma represents a brighter future for our students and their families. Reaching 133 graduates is a testament to the hard work of our students, instructors, and community partners.”
The Adult Learning Program provides free instruction for adults seeking to earn a high school credential. In addition to preparing students for GED testing and diploma completion, the program helps participants build skills for college enrollment, workforce training, and career advancement.
Many graduates continue their education at Central Alabama Community College, while others enter the workforce with new qualifications and increased confidence.
“This milestone belongs to our students who never gave up on their goals,” Chambers said. “We are honored to be part of their journey and look forward to helping even more adults achieve success in the coming year.”
