ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College will host a free AI Community Caravan on Friday, Aug. 28, offering local residents an opportunity to learn the basics of artificial intelligence through hands-on demonstrations and expert-led discussions.
The event is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Multimedia Room of the Betty Carol Graham Building on the college’s Alexander City campus.
Designed for beginners, the program will introduce attendees to artificial intelligence and its growing role in everyday life and the workplace. Participants will be able to watch live demonstrations, ask questions during an interactive session, and hear from panelists who will discuss practical uses of AI technology.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring personal laptops so they can follow along with demonstrations and gain firsthand experience using AI tools. Power outlets will be available throughout the event.
“I’m excited to teach this AI Community Caravan,” said Central Alabama Community College instructor Slade Young. “Bring your laptop and leave feeling more confident about using AI.”
College officials said the event is open to anyone interested in learning more about artificial intelligence, including students, educators, business professionals, and community members. No previous AI experience is required.
“At Central Alabama Community College, we know AI skills will be needed for the future,” President Jeff Lynn said. “This event is a perfect example of how we open our doors to beginners and lifelong learners in our local community.”
Admission is free, but space is limited. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early.
