ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College (CACC) has achieved a significant milestone in its Adult Education program, providing 100 GED/High School Diploma Options (HSDO) for the current program year.

This marks the highest number since the program’s inception in 2014.

“This is a momentous occasion for our Adult Education program,” said Jeff Lynn, President of CACC. “Our team’s commitment and adherence to providing quality education have made this achievement possible. We are incredibly proud of our students who have worked hard to reach their educational goals.”

The Adult Education program at CACC aims to equip adults with essential skills and knowledge necessary for success in the workforce, as well as earning a high school equivalency credential and transitioning to postsecondary education or training.

Michael Barnette, Dean of Workforce and Economic Development Programs added, “This milestone is a testament to our program’s strength and our students’ resilience. We are devoted to providing opportunities for adults to improve their lives through education.”

Dr. Jennifer Crowder, Director of Adult Education, echoed these sentiments, saying, “Our program is more than just about numbers. Each of these 100 students represents a life changed, a future brightened. We are excited to continue this work and help even more adults reach their educational goals.”
