ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College is celebrating the achievements of 116 adult learners who earned their GED or high school diploma through the college’s Adult Education program during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Led by Lynn Chambers, Director of Adult Learning, the program serves adults across the region, providing support as they complete their education and pursue new opportunities.

“This group of students showed incredible determination,” Chambers said. “Many returned to the classroom while juggling jobs, raising kids, and overcoming real obstacles. They made a commitment to themselves, and we’re proud to walk beside them.”

Central Alabama Community College’s Adult Education program offers free instruction and flexible class times at local learning sites. Students can work at their own pace with the guidance of experienced instructors, whether they’re earning a credential, brushing up on skills, or preparing for college or job training.

“These students made a decision to keep going,” said President Jeff Lynn. “They didn’t let setbacks define their future. What they’ve accomplished is something to be proud of, and it’s just the beginning. We look forward to seeing what comes next for each of them.”

Graduates now have more options to pursue higher education, workforce training, or better employment.

“Education brings confidence,” Chambers said. “It opens doors, builds momentum, and gives people choices. That’s what this program is all about.”

Enrollment is open year-round. For more information, visit www.cacc.edu or call (256) 378-2017.
