SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College Adult Education is celebrating family literacy with a pair of Teddy Bear Tales events this week in partnership with local Chick-fil-A locations.

Families are invited to bring their children’s teddy bears or favorite stuffed animals to the Teddy Bear Check-Up Station from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, at Chick-fil-A in Sylacauga. Central Alabama Community College Medical Career Pathways students will conduct the checkups.

Another Teddy Bear Tales event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Chick-fil-A in Alexander City.

During the Sylacauga event, Story Time will feature Sylacauga Mayor Matt Hubbard and Officer Kenny Ray Funderburg. The event will also include cookies and milk, a visit from the Chick-fil-A Cow, and a surprise tasting of one of Chick-fil-A’s new products.

The free family events are designed to encourage young readers, create opportunities for families, and strengthen the community through Central Alabama Community College’s Adult Education program.
