SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce has some fun ideas in place for their Celebrate Sylacauga Dinner on Thursday, April 17, including the Sylacauga Chamber’s First Ever Lip Sync Battle.
Much like the show “Lip Sync Battle”, contestants will dress in outlandish, full-out costumes and entertain the crowd with their best lip singing. The performances will be voted on at the end of the night and the winner will take home the “Lip Sync Sylacauga” Championship belt!
They are looking for local lip sync talent – solo or with a group.
They’ll have five microphones, hand held or in ear, pop-star style. Organizers say that you will need to fully commit to this 100 percent.
Included is a ticket purchase for the event.
You’ll need to dress in costume for your act, pick a fun, memorable lip sync song, sell the performance, and have fun.
There are some fun-crazy ideas such as Britney Spears “Slave for You” while wearing a large stuffed animal boa constrictor, performing YMCA as a group dressed like the Village People, or doing any Tina Turner song complete with the iconic wig and tassled outfit. Maybe even go as Sonny and Cher in your best hippie clothes.
