SHOP LOCAL, SAVE BIG: Alabama Big Deals Online Store launches including Sylacauga, Childersburg, and Alexander City businesses and services

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – It’s official. The newest way to shop online — and save — in east central Alabama is now accessible around the clock.

Businesses from Sylacauga, Childersburg, and Alexander City are participating in the exclusive online store with savings up to 50% on select items and services.

The concept: you save money when purchasing discounted gift certificates.

Shoppers head to where they will find an assortment of restaurants, entertainment, car services, and more to choose from. When purchasing a gift card, shoppers will see a discounted purchase cost and receive the full value of the certificate. Pursell Farms, LaCosta, Odies Deli, Big-B-BBQ, The Coffee Corner, Jay’s Sports Bar and Grill, Lori Darnlin’s and more are featured in the store.

Here’s the deal:

As an example, let’s say you want to eat at Heavenly Grounds for lunch. You go online to and find a $5 gift certificate. In this instance, Heavenly Grounds has combined four $5 certificates together for a total value of $20. You buy the $20 value of gift certificates for $15.

Shoppers can select a mobile certificate (for certain businesses), pick-up their certificates at the RadioAlabama Studios, or have them mailed.

“This is a step in the right direction to help promote local business and save people money in the process,” said Michael Brannon, Executive Vice President of RadioAlabama. Alabama Big Deals is a part of RadioAlabama.

“There are many local businesses that do not value the true essence of being local and advertising their business in effective ways. This is one of those ways that creates major lift and incredible buzz for the community. We are excited to save people money and to be partnering with these premier businesses in our store,” Brannon added.

The Alabama Big Deals Online Store is unlike any other local gift certificate program. By state law, gift certificates do not expire. So when you buy one, it’s treated as legal tinder upon presentation.

“Our sales staff is trained in how this process works and is ready to save you money and in turn help advertise and promote local business in the process,” he said.
