SYLACAUGA, Ala. — What started as a celebration of local businesses, organizations, and community members across the Coosa Valley has grown into a record-setting show of support, with more than 90,000 votes cast in this year’s Best of the Coosa Valley awards at bestofcoosavalley.com.
The annual campaign, designed to highlight the very best the region has to offer, saw overwhelming participation from communities across East Central Alabama. From nominations to final voting, residents rallied behind their favorites, sharing, promoting, and casting votes in large numbers throughout the process.
This year’s promotion carried an added sense of energy and flair rooted with a Las Vegas theme inspired by bright lights, big moments, and high-stakes excitement, mirroring the intensity and enthusiasm seen throughout the voting process.
The response reflects not only the popularity of the awards, but also the deep connection residents have with the businesses and individuals who serve their communities every day.
“This kind of response is incredible, but it’s also a testament to who we are as a community,” said Michael Brannon, Executive Vice President of RadioAlabama. “To see more than 90,000 votes come in shows just how much people care about supporting local businesses and recognizing the people who make the Coosa Valley area special. This isn’t just a contest. It’s a reflection of our community’s pride.”
Voting officially closed after weeks of engagement across multiple categories, with nominees representing a wide range of industries including dining, retail, healthcare, service providers, and more. The awards first began in 2021.
Winners will be officially announced on Monday, May 11, with results published online and shared across RadioAlabama’s media platforms, including SylacaugaNews.com and associated social channels.
