SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Get your aprons and bibs ready for a smokin’ good time at the BBQ and Blues Festival, presented by Sylacauga Parks and Recreation on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Central Park.

The sizzling event will include live blues music and a fierce BBQ competition that will have ears ringing and taste buds tingling.

The stage will come alive with the soulful sounds of Sonz of Thunder, Little Lee and the Midnight Blues Band, and Clarence Davis & Jock Webb.

For beer enthusiasts, Fermenter’s Beer Truck will be on-site to keep the good times flowing.

The BBQ competition, sponsored by Coosa Valley Medical Center, First Bank of Alabama, Ace Hardware, Albia Steers State Farm, and State Representative Ben Robbins, offers a chance for grill masters to showcase their skills.

Award categories include Ribs, Chicken, Pork Shoulder, Tailgate Specialty (voted on by people’s choice), and Most Creative Cooking Booth (also voted on by people’s choice).

With prizes totaling $450 for first place, $250 for second place, and $150 for third place, competitors are fired up to impress the judges and attendees alike, and the excitement doesn’t end there. A drawing for a free Weber Griddle, sponsored by Ace Hardware, will also take place.

Tickets are available at $15 per person and can be purchased at sylacauga.recdesk.com.
