SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The B.B. Comer Memorial Library will begin another First Bank of Alabama Adult Lecture Series, titled “These Are Our Stories,” starting on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The popular Brown Bag Lecture Series offers a diverse lineup of speakers and topics designed to educate and engage the community.
Held in the Harry I. Brown Auditorium at 12:00 p.m. each Wednesday, the auditorium will open at 11:30 a.m. for attendees who wish to bring a sandwich for lunch. The Comer Library will provide drinks, and Hickory Street Cafe will offer dessert.
The lecture schedule includes:
Feb. 5 – Billy Singleton, “A Strange New Bird: The Airplane Comes to Alabama”
Feb. 12 – Khari Allen Lee, “The Beautiful Sounds of History”
Feb. 19 – Kathryn H. Braund, “Mapping Conquest: Revisiting the Story of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend”
Feb. 26 – Mike Bunn, “Life in Antebellum Mobile”
March 5 – Dolores Hydock, “The Story Stork: Where Stories Come From”
