SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Among many other businesses closing their doors as a result of COVID-19 (coronavirus), B.B. Comer Memorial Library will be joining that list starting tomorrow, March 17.
“The staff will be reporting to work so that we can do some limited phone work for the public,” said Library Director Tracy Thomas.
According to Thomas, the library will still be available for reference and for people to utilize the fax service. Computer-use only cards can be issued over the phone which will give people access to the entire E-book collection as well as the electronic databases.
“We will be closed through March 31, and then we will re-evaluate and see if more time is needed,” said Thomas.
The library staff members will be available for phone calls from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“We really still want to be available to the public on the obviously limited basis that we will be able to serve the public,” said Thomas. “We are just doing our best not to be a point of transmission for this virus.”
