SYLACAUGA, Ala. – At the end of 2019, Avondale Trucking in Sylacauga officially closed its doors.

According to sources, employees lost their jobs due to Avondale Trucking’s parent company, Mount Vernon Mills, becoming aware that the company had not made a profit in a year.

Fuji Avid, from Bowling Green, Ky. has bought the building along with 10 tractors and six trailers. He owns a broker and warehouse business, selling assets, and looking for a tenant.

Avondale Trucking was bought in 2006 by Mount Vernon Mills after Avondale Mills closed its doors.
