OAK GROVE, Ala. – The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft involving more than $15,000 in stolen tools and equipment from four Alabama Power service vehicles parked off of Hwy 280.
Deputies said the incident occurred sometime between Sunday morning, June 22, and early Monday, June 23.
The trucks were behind a locked gate, though investigators noted the lock appeared loose enough to allow entry without being visibly damaged.
More than 40 items were taken, including hand and power tools, batteries, chargers and two automated external defibrillators. Other missing equipment includes chainsaws, drills, impact wrenches, flashlights, wire cutters, volt meters, screwdrivers, crescent wrenches, pliers, and complete wrench sets.
Investigators have obtained surveillance footage and are reviewing it for leads. No arrests have been made.
