Southern Dance and Performing Arts Center (SDPAC) is holding tryouts for its next musical.

“Big Fish: The Musical” is the upcoming production coming from Sylacauga’s Southern Dance and Performing Arts Center. It follows “Beauty and the Beast” which ran nine shows from Oct. 21 to Oct. 30.
Adapted from the 1998 novel and the 2003 Tim Burton film, Big Fish follows the lives of a father and son that experience a multitude of strange and fascinating tales. As the father Edward Bloom recollects on his life’s journey, the son William comes to grips on whether his father’s stories are made-up or simply the stuff of legend.
Auditions are set from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. this Thursday and Friday, Dec. 2 and 3.
In order to tryout, go to sdpac.net and sign up for a 30-minute time slot. Auditions for ensemble only will include only a cold reading of a selection of the script while named roles will require a prepared 60-second monologue and a 90-second solo.
