SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company’s (SDPAC) new theatre season is about to begin, and auditions for their next musical are right around the corner.
Tryouts for The Hunchback of Notre Dame will take place next Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 8 and 9, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the SDPAC studio located at 109 N. Broadway Ave.
In order to audition, a application form must be completed online. You can sign up for a time slot by clicking here. Auditions are open to ages 10 and older.
The play dates for the public performances are Oct. 20-22, 28, and 29. School performances are set for Oct. 25 and 27. All performances will be at the B.B. Comer Memorial High School auditorium.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame’s stage production is based on the novel by Victor Hugo and the Academy Award-nominated score from the Disney animated film as well as new songs from well-renowned composers Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.
SDPAC is a program within the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement (SAFE). A 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, SAFE, along with SDPAC, are dedicated to providing unique performing arts programs. SDPAC offers classes in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, pointe, lyrical, hip hop, technique/variations, theatre production ensemble dancers, and theatre.
