SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Early Monday morning a vehicle collided with the rear end of a Sylacauga City Schools bus, sending multiple people to the hospital.
Superintendent Jon Segars told SylacaugaNews.com the crash occurred on Odena Road South near Pope Circle. Segars said the students on the bus and the driver were uninjured, but some parents have taken their students to the hospital for precautionary measure.
“All of the students have been checked out and are okay, although some parents have taken their children for medical attention. Another bus was available to transport the students safely to their schools. The school nurses will be following up with them throughout the day,” Segars explained.
The other vehicle also contained members of the Sylacauga City Schools System. Segars did say one person, who he did not identify, was flown by helicopter to UAB in Birmingham.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured family in the private vehicle that they will have a full recovery,” said Segars
