Annual Veterans Day Parade set for Wednesday

SHARE NOW

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Each and every year Sylacauga comes together to celebrate our veterans in the Sylacauga Veterans Day parade.

The parade will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sylacauga High School football parking lot and go downtown from there. People attending the parade are encouraged to begin lining the streets at 9:30 a.m.

The parade is a chance for our local veterans to go for a ride and be honored by the people of Sylacauga.

Many places across the state have canceled their Veterans Day parade due to COVID-19, however it has not stopped the city of Sylacauga from continuing its yearly tradition.

“We are going to have a parade because that is just what we do, ” said Jon Hall, president of the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter 945. “It’s a time for people to honor the Veterans in the community.”

The parade will be live streamed on the SylacaugaNews.com Facebook page.
