Anniston man killed in crash late Wednesday night

OXFORD, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, claimed the life of an Anniston man.

Cody Kenneth Cross, 25, was traveling west on Bernard Couch Dr. when the pickup he was driving left the roadway, struck a mailbox, collided with a tree and overturned.

Cross, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was ejected from the vehicle. Cross was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash occurred seven miles east of Oxford. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
