SYLACAUGA, Ala. – American Legion Post 45 in Sylacauga is gearing up to commemorate Flag Day on Wednesday, June 14, with a special ceremony dedicated to retiring flags that have faithfully served their purpose.
The event aims to honor these flags for a job well done. Throughout the year, the American Legion collects flags from the community and takes great care of them.
If you have a flag that is in need of retirement, you can bring it to the front porch of the legion building located on Ft. Williams St. where it will be properly handled. This initiative reflects the legion’s deep respect for the symbol of our nation.
The Flag Retirement Ceremony will take place on June 14 at 5:00 pm at American Legion Post 45’s Sylacauga Armory. Those interested in attending this event are encouraged to come and witness the dignified proceedings.
