Alpine woman loses her life in Thursday morning trailer fire

ALPINE, Ala. – An Alpine woman identified as 71-year-old Diane Morris lost her life in an early Thursday morning trailer fire in Alpine that also left her husband with suffering from smoke inhalation.

The Renfroe Volunteer Fire Department got a call to the trailer on Stuart Lane in Alpine at 5:12 a.m. Thursday. According to Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy, Morris and her husband appeared to have been at opposite ends of the trailer when the fire broke out. Morris was pronounced dead at the scene at around 9:00 a.m. Thursday. Her husband was transported to St. Vincent/ St. Clair Hospital in Pell City for treatment of his injuries.
