Sylacauga senior Corbyn Patterson has stepped up in a big way during the Aggies’ historic playoff run, earning Allen Brew Market Athlete of the Week honors after back-to-back standout performances on the biggest stage.
Patterson scored 16 points in Sylacauga’s Elite Eight victory and followed it up with another 16-point performance in the Final Four, helping lead the Aggies to the AHSAA State Championship Game. The senior guard has provided steady leadership and timely scoring throughout the postseason as Sylacauga continues its pursuit of a state title.
While his scoring has been critical, Patterson’s impact goes far beyond the stat sheet. Known as one of the Aggies’ best perimeter defenders, he has consistently taken on the challenge of guarding the opponent’s top offensive player while setting the tone with his effort and toughness on the defensive end.
With Patterson’s leadership and two-way play guiding the way, Sylacauga now finds itself one win away from a state championship as the Aggies prepare to take the court Saturday with a title on the line.
