ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – On Monday, April 3, Alexander City detective Christopher Graham was given the 2022 CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year Award.
Graham, a native of Alexander City that graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 2012 and worked as a middle school teacher and assistant football coach before beginning his career with the Alexander City Police Department (ACPD) in 2019, quickly established himself as a hard-working individual with a keen sense for police work.
His work ethic was noted in a press release from CrimeStoppers, stating that Graham is “usually the last person from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to leave at the end of the day.”
In the last year, Graham was noted to have gone “above and beyond any normal call of duty service” within the CID on multiple occasions.
He recently became certified as a hostage negotiator. Due to this new training, Graham has started working with Tallapoosa County’s Special Response Group.
In the press release, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers remarked, “Pages could be written on the sacrifices made by this young man, but his actions speak for themselves.”
