AHSAA unveils 2024-26 reclassification; both B.B. Comer and Fayetteville out of Class 2A

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) announced its latest round of reclassification for fall sports Monday afternoon, Dec. 18, and two South Talladega County teams will be moving into new classes come next fall.

The two biggest changes are for B.B. Comer and Fayetteville.

The B.B. Comer Tigers will enter the Class 3A, Region 4 gauntlet with rival Childersburg along with Dadeville, Randolph County, Beulah, and AHSAA newcomers Lee-Scott Academy and Glenwood School.

Fayetteville heads down to Class 1A, Region 6 and will now battle it out with Winterboro, Talladega County Central, Donoho, Wadley, Victory Christian, and Woodland.

Sylacauga remains in Class 5A, Region 4 with Clay Central, Beauregard, Valley, Marbury, Holtville, and Elmore County.

These new AHSAA classifications will start with 2024 fall sports and remain through the completion of 2026 spring athletics.
