MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Tuesday morning, the Alabama High School Athletics Association released its re-classifications for member schools for 2022 through 2024.
Every two years, the AHSAA realigns based on student population for public and private schools, and uses a competitive balance formula for privcate schools.
Here are the football regions for local schools. These alignments start with the 2022 fall sports season.
B.B. Comer, as expected, stays in class 2A along with Fayetteville. The Tigers and Wolves will be in Region 4 with Central Coosa, Isabella, Ranburne, Thorsby, Vincent and Woodland.
Winterboro stays in Class 1A. It is joined in Region 6 with Ragland, Spring Garden. Talladega County Central, Donoho, Victory Christian and Wadley.
Childersburg sticks with Class 3A in 4. The Tigers will matchup with Dadeville, Beulah, Randolph County, Saks, Weaver and Walter Wellborn.
Sylacauga again is in Class 5A Region 4, but a few opponents have changed. The Aggies will be in a six-team region with Central Clay, Beauregard, Tallassee, Valley and Elmore County.
