SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce announced on Tuesday, Dec. 2 that the Sylacauga Aggies boys basketball team has been named Grand Marshals of the 2025 Sylacauga Christmas Parade.
The honor follows a standout 2024-25 season in which the Aggies finished as runner-up in the Alabama Class 5A state championship.
Under first-year head coach Joel Jones and assistant coach Skylar Patterson, Sylacauga posted a 31-4 record and reached the state finals for the first time since 2018. The Aggies fell to Vigor 59–49 in the title game at Birmingham’s BJCC Legacy Arena but drew widespread praise for their postseason run.
City leaders said the team’s performance brought positive attention to Sylacauga and exemplified the dedication and pride of the basketball program.
The parade is scheduled for Thursday night, Dec. 4. If inclement weather forces a delay, it will be rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 5, at 6:00 p.m.
